Women of the ELCA has four avenues for giving:
-
Regular
Offerings
support
women in
ministry
and keep
our
organization
running!
These
offerings
provide
income
to
support
the
ongoing
work of
Women of
the
ELCA.
They
cover
the
costs of
the
churchwide
organization
so that
collectively,
united
as one
body of
women
throughout
the
ELCA, we
can make
the kind
of
difference
we
cannot
make
otherwise.
Regular
offerings
are
usually
collected
at
circle
meetings,
Bible
study
sessions,
and
other
general
meetings.
-
Thankofferings,
a
long-standing
tradition
in our
organization,
show our
gratitude
for
God's
blessings.
We are
called
to offer
with joy
and
thanksgiving
what God
has
first
given to
us.
Thankofferings
help
Women of
the ELCA
provide
resources,
events,
programs,
and much
more.
Thankofferings
also
support
the
organization's
crucial
annual
gift to
the
ELCA,
which
supports
global
mission,
the
ELCA's
world
hunger
program,
and much
more.
Although
we
receive
no money
from the
ELCA,
our
annual
gift
recognizes
our
partnership
with
ELCA
ministries
as a
whole
and
recognizes
that
Women of
the ELCA
receives
much
in-kind
support
from the
churchwide
office:
The ELCA
provides
us with
office
space
and
services,
for
example,
gift
processing,
and
technical
support
for our
Web
site.
Thankofferings
are
collected
during a
Thankoffering
service
or
Thankoffering
devotion.
-
Designated
gifts
give you
the
opportunity
to
support
a
specific
ministry
and are
passed
in total
to that
chosen
ministry.
Your
designated
gift can
provide
direct
support
to the
Women of
the ELCA
grants
program
or the
Raising
Up
Healthy
Women
and
Girls
health
initiative,
for
example.
You can
also
make a
designated
gift to
a
specific
ministry
of the
ELCA
through
Women of
the
ELCA:
World
Hunger,
Reaching
Out with
the
Gospel,
Missionary
Support,
or
Lutheran
World
Relief.

-
Special
offerings
are
given in
observance
of a
special
occasion,
such as
a
memorial
or
anniversary.
The
funds
that
benefit
from
special
offerings
are
endowments,
so they
make a
lasting
memory
and
different
in the
lives of
others.
You can
make a
special
offering
to
Katie's Fund
(Katherine
von Bora
Luther
Endowment)
or one
of the
Women of
the ELCA
scholarship
endowment
funds.
Each avenue gives participants an opportunity to bear witness to the collective blessings of women remaining faithful.
In
conjunction
with the
ELCA
Foundation,
Women of the
ELCA invites
you to
consider
making a
gift through
your estate
or a planned
gift, such
as a
charitable
gift
annuity,
which is the
"gift you
give today
that gives
back to you
for life,
and then
gives to
Women of the
ELCA." There
are other
such
vehicles
also
available
through the
Foundation.
You are
invited
to contact the
Foundation
about the
options
available to
you.
