Linda
Post
Bushkofsky
is executive
director of
Women of the
ELCA. Once a
congregational
unit
president
and member
of a
synodical
women’s
organization
board, Linda
had also
been a
workshop
leader and
regular
contributor
to
Lutheran
Woman Today
magazine
before
assuming
this post in
August 2002.
As a
young girl,
Linda
couldn’t
settle on
just one
thing to be
when growing
up. She
wanted to do
it all, and
her
professional
background
today
reflects
that. Linda
has been an
attorney, a
teacher, an
administrator,
a writer,
and an
editor. Her
personal
interests
are just as
eclectic.
She's an
organic
gardener,
specializing
in herbs.
She’s a
quilter who
also loves
to read and
make music.
Her passions
center on
peace,
justice, and
holistic
living.
Bushkofsky earned
a bachelor’s degree
magna cum laude
in political science
and English at
Susquehanna
University,
Selinsgrove,
Pennsylvania, in
1981. She received a
juris doctor
degree magna cum
laude at the
University of
Pittsburgh School of
Law in 1984 where
she served as a
Mellon Teaching
Fellow. A native of
Pennsylvania,
Bushkofsky also
lived in Minnesota
and now calls
Illinois home.
She is married to
the Rev. Dennis L.
Bushkofsky, an ELCA
pastor and interim
ministry specialist
originally from
Iowa. They have one
child, Judy. They
are members of Our
Saviour’s Lutheran
Church in Arlington
Heights, Illinois,
where Linda is a
member of the
Thursday evening
circle of Women of
the ELCA.
