Bold Women of the Reformation trip
Wittenberg womenWomen of the ELCA is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a trip to Germany focusing on the lives of Martin Luther, Katharina von Bora Luther, and other women of the Reformation. Developed in partnership with the ELCA Wittenberg Center, this outstanding opportunity takes place April 16–30, 2007.

What you will see

Plan now for an all-inclusive cultural tour that features guided tours of Berlin, Wittenberg, Torgau, Leipzig, Dresden, Eisleben, Erfurt, and Eisenach. You'll visit the city where Martin Luther lived and taught for 36 years; see the ruins of Kloster Nimbschen, the convent where Katharina von Bora was a nun prior to marrying Martin Luther; visit the church where Bach served as a music director; enjoy a unique Reformation-era performance by local Wittenberg women; and much more.

Accommodations and requirements

Overnight accommodations feature some of the areas' finest hotels as well as an Augustinian monastery, and transportation throughout Germany will be aboard a 4-star motor coach with climate control, reclining seats, and other amenities. Cost of the tour also includes many meals. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and physically able to walk up to one mile. We recommend leisure attire and your favorite pair of walking shoes. There will be plenty to see and do!
